The school year is starting, and we are opening Vlume to more schools. If you teach Armenian, whether every day or every Saturday morning, or run a school, or are a parent who would like the school’s reading to go beyond the textbook, this is for you.
If you’re new here
Vlume is a reading and listening platform in Armenian. Thousands of titles and hours of professionally narrated audiobooks, in Western and Eastern Armenian, accessible via your tablets, phones and the web. Classics, contemporary authors, translations, illustrated books for the youngest, and original series that until recently did not exist in Armenian.
Schools have been using Vlume since 2020. In many of them it is now a required supplementary tool from Grade 3 upward, while lower-grade teachers benefit from it as well. It sits next to the textbook: the curriculum sets what has to be read; Vlume is where the children keep reading.
For weekend schools this matters more, not less. You see the children for a few hours a week. Vlume is there the other six days.
Here’s what we bring to your school
The school’s own access under its name, with simple tools to add students by class and teacher and to see what they read and listen to.
Someone to talk to throughout the year, for questions and for suggestions.
Two meetings a year with our product and publishing teams. Teachers tell us what is missing; we prioritize accordingly. Several titles on the platform today are there because a teacher asked.
Two small tools that do a lot
Read-along. The text lights up word by word as the narrator reads. A child who is not yet reading on their own still follows the whole story, and the link between sound and letter builds on its own.
Dictionary. Tap a word, see its meaning, keep reading. No second app, no lost page.
Not sure where to start? Start here
The classics are there, thousands of them. What we have added are original series, created with teachers across participating schools, for the child who has not yet decided that reading is for them. Each starts from something a child already cares about: a sport, an animal, the planet, a pirate, a physics trick. Illustration and narration are made to stand beside the best children's books anywhere. The list grows every few months. Here is where it stands today, each series linked to its age group and what it brings to the classroom:
Still on the fence? That’s fair
